Kenya Power has announced that several regions across five counties will undergo scheduled power outages on Wednesday.
The affected counties include Nairobi, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kakamega, Nyeri, and Kajiado.
In Nairobi, residents of Ngumba Estate and neighboring areas will be without electricity from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In Kajiado County, a power cut is planned for the Matasia area between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The outage will impact locations such as Saina, Bluesky, Oloosuyian, Oloyankalani, Saab Royal, Suguna Feeds, Kajiado Referral Hospital, Masai Polytechnic, Moipei, Kajiado County Government offices, Sambel, Masai Mara, Tata Chemicals, Esokota, Saina Airstrip, Kajiado Town, and nearby customers.
In Elgeyo Marakwet County, Chepsirei and Kapkayo areas will experience power interruptions from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Areas to be affected include Chepsirei TTI, Chepsirei NYS, Kapkayo Market, Kocholwo Market, Teber, Setano, Enego, and surrounding customers.
Kakamega County’s Matungu Market will be without power from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The outage will also affect Kholera Primary, Kholera Village, Harambee Market, Mayoni, Panyako, Bulimbo, Koyonzo, and neighboring residents.
In Nyeri County, power will be off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Rititi and Gatunganga areas. The blackout will affect Rititi Market, Cheru, Kianjogu, Kianjogu C/Fact, Thaithi Market, Mahiga Springs, Gatiko, Kinguku, Ngaini Market, Rathithi, Kahira-Ini C/Fact, Gatunai, Gatunganga Market, Mukanyaritho Village, Maganjo, Maganjo Secondary School, Chieni Mikundi Market, Hiriga Secondary School, Manorero, and telecom booster stations for Safaricom and Airtel.
Additional sites to be affected in Nyeri include Chriss Pole Yard, Lusoi Hotel, Thung’ari Water Pump, Everest, and nearby locations.
