Under the new pact, Qatar Airways passengers will gain access to eight additional African destinations via Nairobi — including Juba (South Sudan), Lilongwe (Malawi), Livingstone (Zambia), and Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe).

Conversely, Kenya Airways customers will now be able to connect through Doha to 11 global cities, among them Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Singapore, Male (Maldives), and Tokyo (Japan).

KQ Chief Commercial and Customer Officer Julius Thairu said the partnership will deepen intercontinental travel links while improving convenience for passengers.

“This collaboration enhances connectivity across Africa and Asia, expands our global network, and offers more travel options for our customers,” said Thairu. “Together with Qatar Airways, we aim to boost tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.”

Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori described Africa as a key pillar of the airline’s global growth strategy.

“Our partnership with Kenya Airways underlines our commitment to linking Africa with the world through our Doha hub,” he said. “By merging our networks, we are creating new travel opportunities and reinforcing economic and cultural ties.”

Beyond passenger operations, the two carriers plan to explore broader cooperation in cargo services, ground handling, lounge access, fleet maintenance, sustainability, and loyalty programs, signalling a deepening strategic alliance between Nairobi and Doha.
