The deal includes project financing, working capital, and digital payment systems for institutions, along with salary advances, mortgages, asset financing, and insurance products for staff. Universities will also be eligible for green energy funding options such as solar and biogas.

Students will benefit from flexible fee payment plans, digital banking services, and a three-month internship programme for over 10,000 learners to strengthen practical skills and industry readiness.

The programme will extend credit and training to SMEs and suppliers linked to universities, while neighbouring communities will access enterprise development initiatives, environmental conservation projects, and scholarships through the KCB Foundation.

The partnership comes as public universities face funding gaps due to rising enrolment and infrastructure demands. Higher Education PS Dr. Beatrice Inyangala said the collaboration supports government goals for sustainable, inclusive, and digitally driven higher education.
