He emphasized that there is clear evidence of this, citing the agreement they signed, which was submitted to both the Registrar of Political Parties and the Speaker of the National Assembly.

In a Tuesday interview on Spice FM, Kioni stated that Jubilee will continue its association with Azimio until they enter into a new coalition agreement in the future.

“We, in Jubilee, signed that agreement and remain in Azimio to this day. We will stay in Azimio until a time comes when we join another coalition,” he said.

Kioni further explained that, with ODM’s pact with the government and some parties already announcing their exits, Jubilee will take the lead in the opposition.

He added that they would have the support of the Kenyan people.

“The people of Kenya are in the opposition, and it is those in the opposition who are under the most scrutiny, because that’s where the hope lies,” he said.

Commenting on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Friday, Kioni suggested that Ruto should have included all Azimio parties in the discussions.

He expressed regret that Raila didn’t involve the entire Azimio coalition in the negotiations, instead taking only ODM with him.

“It would have been crucial for Raila to bring all Azimio parties into the conversation, as that’s the usual practice,” Kioni said. “I wish Ruto had engaged all coalition parties.”

On Saturday, Kioni accused Raila of abandoning his political allies without prior notice, despite their collective efforts in the 2022 General Election.

“We campaigned across the country, mobilizing votes for Raila. As Azimio, we were everywhere seeking support. If you’ve decided to leave, why not inform those who stood by you?” Kioni asked.
