Residents of Makueni County will now enjoy longer access to government services after the Makueni Huduma Centre introduced extended operating hours.
Effective Monday, July 20, 2026, the centre will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., a move aimed at improving access to public services and enhancing customer convenience.

Huduma Kenya announced the changes through its official X account, saying the extended schedule is intended to make government services more accessible to residents.
Joins nationwide rollout
The Makueni branch becomes the latest Huduma Centre to adopt the 12-hour operating schedule, joining 20 other centres across the country.
On July 15, the government announced similar changes for five Huduma Centres in Nairobi, including GPO, Makadara, Kibra, Eastleigh and City Square. Other centres in Thika, Nakuru, Eldoret, Nyeri, Bungoma and Kisumu have also adopted the extended hours.
The initiative is designed to serve residents in high-demand urban centres by giving them greater flexibility to access government services before or after work.
Services available
From Monday to Friday, visitors to the Makueni Huduma Centre will continue to access a wide range of government services, including applications for national identity cards, birth and death certificates, and business registration.
The centre will also provide services offered by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Social Health Authority (SHA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), National Social Security Fund (NSSF), as well as eCitizen support.
The extended working hours form part of ongoing public service reforms by the Ministry of Public Service aimed at improving efficiency and making government services more accessible to Kenyans. Residents are encouraged to confirm the operating hours of their preferred Huduma Centre before visiting.
