How to Check 2024 KCSE Results

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) announced the release of the 2024 KCSE results on Thursday.

Unlike previous years, candidates will no longer be able to access their results via SMS. Instead, the results can be viewed on the KNEC website.

To access the results, candidates should log into the website, click on the “KCSE Results” icon, and follow the instructions.

A KNEC statement clarified, “Individual 2024 KCSE candidates’ examination results will be accessible online via a link on the KNEC website or directly through the URL: https://results.knec.ac.ke/.” It continued, “Enter your index number and one of your registered names in the provided spaces, then click the ‘View Results’ button to see your results.”

The results will be available immediately after being released by the Education Cabinet Secretary, Julius Migos Ogamba, who made the announcement at New Mitihani House in South C, Nairobi.

KNEC added that provisional results for the KCSE exam can be checked after the official release. Official result slips will be available at the examination centres where the candidates sat their exams.

This year, 965,501 candidates sat for the KCSE exams in 10,755 centres, marking an increase from the 903,138 candidates in 2023. The marking process was completed on December 13, 2024, following a detailed review by examiners at 35 designated marking centres.

The option to check results via SMS was discontinued by former Education CS Machogu after errors were encountered during the release of the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results.
