At one point, nearly 45,000 viewers tuned in simultaneously as fans sent high-value virtual gifts, including Lions, TikTok Universe gifts, Money Guns, Fireworks, Galaxies, and thousands of smaller items such as roses, hand hearts, perfumes and confetti.

On TikTok, viewers buy virtual gifts using Coins, which creators later convert to Diamonds and cash out. The top-tier gifts—like TikTok Universe (about 44,999 Coins or Sh72,551), the Lion (29,999 Coins or Sh51,462) and Diamond Flight (18,000 Coins or Sh30,891)—significantly boosted her earnings. Based on these values, Truphena’s premium gifts alone earned her well above half a million shillings.

Corporate brands and public personalities also stepped in with rewards. A betting company pledged Sh1 million for her completing the challenge, while a travel company promised her a fully paid three-night stay in Mombasa.

Other gifts included a Samsung Galaxy Fold 7, Sh100,000 to cater for Guinness World Records processing fees, skincare treatments, and several months of custom-designed outfits from local fashion houses.

Muthoni concluded the 72-hour challenge shortly after midday outside the Nyeri Governor’s Office, where hundreds had gathered to witness the achievement. Supporters stood with her through rain and cold nights, offering food, water, prayers and constant motivation as she endured exhaustion and physical discomfort.

As she finally hit the 72-hour target, the crowd burst into cheers, songs and ululations. Muthoni has previously said her mission goes beyond endurance—she wants to highlight the impact of deforestation and push for stronger climate action.

Her accomplishment now firmly establishes her as one of Kenya’s leading young climate advocates.
