Gor Mahia’s star player Benson Omalla has secured a loan move to Algerian club JS-Saoura, as confirmed by the Kenyan club.
In an announcement made on Monday, the reigning Kenyan Premier League champions stated, “We are pleased to confirm the temporary transfer of our star player Benson Omalla to JS-Saoura FC in Algeria for the remainder of the season.”
The agreement between the two clubs includes an option for a permanent transfer should Omalla excel during his time with JS-Saoura FC.
The Executive Committee of Gor Mahia FC expressed their well wishes for Omalla’s success at his new club, acknowledging his talent on the field. They also expressed optimism for a positive relationship between the two clubs going forward.
While there were earlier rumors about Omalla’s move to the Algerian side, club officials dismissed them as unfounded. Since his arrival from Western Stima, Omalla has been a key player for Gor Mahia, contributing significantly to their 20th league title victory last season.
JS-Saoura, known as The Eagles, competes in Algeria’s top division, Ligue 1, and hosts its home games at the 1955 Stadium, which boasts a capacity of 20,000 spectators.
