Friday Power Outage to Hit Parts of 4 Counties

Kenya Power has announced a scheduled electricity blackout affecting sections of four counties on Friday, February 13, 2026.

In a notice released on Thursday, February 12, the utility explained that the outage is part of routine network maintenance and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the affected areas.

Nairobi County:
The blackout will hit parts of Langata Road, including Wilson Airport, Skyward Airlines, Dam Estate, Rubis Petrol Station, Uhuru Gardens, Deliverance Church, Maasai Estate, Jonathan Ngeno Estate, and Breeze Estate.

Other areas affected include Kibiku, Mihango, Utawala, Twiga Kayole, Royal Court, Mihango Primary School, Quickmart Mihango, Empire Court, Shamy Quarry, Immaculate Primary School, V Mall, Riverside, and surrounding neighborhoods.

Kisii County:
Power will be out in Nyamache, Nyoera, and Igare. Key facilities affected include Nyamache Tea Factory, Nyamache Hospital, Nyamagwa Boys, and Nyamache Market, along with nearby residential areas.

Migori County:
Areas in Osiri, Macalder, and Muhuru Bay will experience outages. Customers at Gogo Power Station, Macalder Mines, Osiri Market, Nyakweri Market, Sori, and Lwanda are expected to be impacted.

Nyeri County:
Kiawaithanji and Mutathini areas will be without electricity. Affected locations include Gachima, Kiawaithanji Market and School, Mutathini Market and School, Tetu Coffee Factory, and parts of Mugwathi and Kiriti villages.

Kenya Power urges residents and businesses in the affected regions to plan accordingly.
