Leading the compilation is Johann Rupert & family, identified as Africa’s wealthiest person with a net worth of $10.3 billion. Rupert, originating from South Africa, has amassed his fortune in the luxury goods sector, securing a global ranking of 192 among billionaires.
Following closely is Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote, positioned at the second spot with a wealth of $9.5 billion. Globally, Dangote holds the 228th rank, deriving his income from the sugar and cement industry. His manufacturing ventures, notably the Dangote Group, employ over 11,000 individuals in West Africa and extend operations internationally to Benin, Ghana, Zambia, and Togo.

Securing the third position is Nick Oppenheimer and his family, boasting a wealth of $8.3 billion. The South African magnate generates his riches through the diamond industry, clinching the 283rd spot worldwide.
Nassef Sawiris from Egypt seizes the fourth spot on Forbes’ real-time billionaires list with a fortune of $7.4 billion, amassed through involvement in construction and investments. On the global scale, Sawiris holds the 345th rank.
In the fifth position is Abdulsamad Rabiu from Nigeria, amassing a wealth of $5.9 billion. Rabiu’s income streams from the cement and sugar sectors, placing him at the 489th position globally.
