Two women have been arrested in Nairobi after detectives recovered counterfeit US currency amounting to about Ksh70 million.
The suspects, identified as Ifrah Ali Jeyte and Qamar Salat Abdi, were cornered in the Upper Hill area during a sting operation by officers from the DCI Nairobi Regional Office.

According to a statement from the DCI, the women were found with bundles of fake USD 100 notes hidden inside a handbag.
Upon counting at the DCI Nairobi Area Headquarters, the seized notes totaled USD 560,000 (around Ksh70 million).
The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to be charged in court.
