CS Owalo Unveils Ministry’s Strategic Plan

The Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy has unveiled its ambitious 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, designed to steer the ministry towards fulfilling its mandate of serving the populace and achieving their developmental goals.

Crafted as a comprehensive policy blueprint, the Strategic Plan aims to tackle emerging challenges while equipping staff, partners, and the public with vital information necessary for holding the ministry accountable.

Outlined within the plan are seven key result areas, including policy frameworks, digital infrastructure, government services, universal access to information, business outsourcing, governance, finance, human capital development, cybersecurity, data governance, and emerging technologies.

Addressing attendees at the launch event held at a Nairobi hotel, Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo emphasized that the Strategic Plan serves as a guiding roadmap for the ministry’s activities, projects, and programs over the next four years.

Owalo underscored the collaborative effort between the ministry and stakeholders in the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) sector to ensure alignment with priority programs outlined in the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
