Nairobi City Thunder have retained their Kenya National Basketball League (KNBL) men’s title after sweeping Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) 3-0 in the finals.
Thunder sealed their championship run with a dominant 80-43 win in Game Three on Saturday night at Nyayo Gymnasium, having already taken the first two games in Mombasa the previous week.
In the final match, Thunder took early control, winning the first quarter 26-7.
After a 12-12 second quarter, they stayed ahead with a 21-16 third quarter and closed with a strong 21-8 finish to complete the clean sweep.
In the women’s Premier League, KPA Ladies were also crowned champions after defeating Zetech Sparks 3-0 in the series.
The Dockers overcame a slow start in Game Three, coming from behind after a 14-18 first quarter deficit to win the remaining quarters 14-11, 15-9, and 16-13, sealing a 59-51 victory and reclaiming their title with a flawless playoff performance.
