Scott, 58, a senior director at FICO’s London office, a U.S.-based data analytics company specializing in credit evaluation, had traveled to Nairobi for a three-day conference. He went missing after leaving his hotel in Westlands.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) quickly enlisted the help of Interpol in the search for him.
Scott had been attending a workshop organized by TransUnion, one of Kenya’s three licensed credit reference bureaus, at the JW Marriott Hotel in Westlands.
According to police, he was last seen leaving the hotel and walking towards Westlands. His colleagues reported him missing after he failed to return.
On Sunday, police received a tip about an unidentified body found in Wote, and investigators were sent on Monday morning to determine if it was Scott.
Authorities are continuing to follow up on leads, with the DCI collaborating with Interpol to track his whereabouts.
Scott’s disappearance has raised concerns due to his prominent position at FICO, one of the world’s leading credit scoring firms, operating in 21 countries across South America, Europe, Oceania, Asia, and Africa. In London, he oversees product management.
Police are asking anyone with information on Scott’s movements after he left the hotel to come forward.
