Super Petrol and Diesel prices have increased by KSh28.69 and KSh40.30 per litre respectively, while Kerosene prices remain unchanged.

In Nairobi, Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene will retail at KSh206.97, KSh206.84, and KSh152.78 per litre respectively, effective midnight for the next 30 days.

The prices include Value Added Tax (VAT) as guided by relevant tax laws and legal notices, including adjustments under the Finance Act 2023 and the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024.

Authorities noted that VAT on petroleum products has been reduced from 16% to 13% in a bid to cushion consumers against rising international oil prices.

The government also said it will inject approximately KSh6.2 billion through the Petroleum Development Levy Fund to help stabilize pump prices.

The announcement comes as global fuel costs continue to fluctuate, directly impacting local retail prices across the country.
