A 14-year-old boy identified as Brian is recovering in hospital after he was allegedly beaten by a priest at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Mugango parish in Bomet County.

His father, Stephen Rono, said the boy was struck several times on the head with a club by the priest over an unspecified mistake.
“I found him on a boda boda, badly beaten. If he was wrong, was it necessary to hit him with a club?” he questioned.
At Chelimo Hospital, medical officer Gilbert Rono confirmed that the teenager suffered head and hand injuries, with blood clots in his eyes.
“He was in poor condition when brought in. He had soft tissue injuries on the head, his eyes were red, but he is now recovering after receiving first aid,” he said.
The boy’s father has since reported the matter to the authorities in Bomet, demanding justice for his son.
