Athiriver Deputy County Commissioner Patrick Mwangi is urging parents of Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates to ensure a 100 percent transition to high school in January. While distributing food items to the less fortunate at St Paul’s Primary School in Athiriver Sub County, Mwangi cautioned parents against excessive spending during the festive season, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing their children’s education in January.
“We are still emphasizing the importance of a 100 percent transition for KCPE students to enroll in secondary schools, and parents should prepare their children’s school fees as they start their festivities,” urged Mwangi. He called on Chiefs to remain vigilant and ensure that all KCPE students in their jurisdictions have enrolled in secondary school by January.
“The Chiefs should engage with the residents and ensure that no child is left behind when transitioning to secondary school,” added the Deputy County Commissioner.
