Local administrators in the Kitheuni area of Yatta, Machakos County, are taking action to provide counselling services for a 24-year-old man who dug his own grave inside his house, reportedly in preparation for his imminent death.
The man, identified as Kamende Ngwili, has allegedly informed local residents that they should attend his burial on January 1, 2025.
This has raised concerns among the community, with many fearing that he may be contemplating suicide.
On Sunday morning, the village elder alerted the area assistant chief about the situation. The assistant chief promptly visited Ngwili’s home and advised him to abandon such plans.
Authorities have also been notified, and local police are coordinating efforts to arrange counselling for the troubled individual to offer support and prevent any further escalation.
