Kenyans Can Now Earn from Facebook with New Ad Features

Meta has launched two new monetization features for eligible creators in Kenya: In-Stream Ads on Facebook and Ads on Facebook Reels.

These tools will allow creators to earn revenue by producing original videos and engaging with their audiences.

Moon Baz, Meta’s Global Partnerships Lead for Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey, highlighted that this initiative is part of Meta’s effort to support and inspire more content creators.

“We are consistently amazed by the exceptional African creators who use Facebook to share their stories, connect with others, and unite communities.

This new expansion will enable eligible creators in Kenya to earn income, setting a high standard for global creativity and making Meta’s apps a go-to platform for creators,” Baz said.

In-Stream Ads and Reels Ads on Facebook

In-Stream Ads can appear before, during, or after on-demand videos, including both pre-recorded content and previous live streams.

They include Pre-roll Ads (before the video starts), Mid-roll Ads (during the video), Image Ads (static images below the video), and Post-roll Ads (after the video ends).

Ads on Facebook Reels will be integrated into original Reels, allowing creators to earn based on the performance of their content while entertaining their audience.

From today, eligible creators in Kenya can start earning from their video and Reels content, with support available in over 30 languages, including Swahili.

Creators must adhere to Facebook’s Partner Monetization Policies and Content Monetization Policies, and be at least 18 years old. For In-Stream Ads, creators need to have a minimum of 5,000 followers.
