Two Maasai Mara University students drowned after slipping and falling into the Enkare-Narok river in Narok Town.
County commissioner Kipkech Lotiatia confirmed the incident and stated that the search for the bodies is underway.
The students were male and female and were crossing over the river, but they didn’t use the right bridge.
Lotiatia urged residents to be vigilant in flooding areas and warned against throwing trash into CBD drainages, which can block and trigger floods.
The river burst its banks overnight following heavy rains nationwide. Lotiatia also called on Narok residents to be vigilant and for those living in low-lying areas to move to safer grounds.
