A pregnant woman has been found murdered and her body discarded along the Moi South Lake road in Naivasha, leaving residents in disbelief.
The victim, believed to be in her mid-20s, was discovered near the sanctuary area with fresh wounds on her hands, neck, and head.
This tragic event occurred shortly after the body of a missing girl was found dumped near the Kinale forest along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
The half-naked body, concealed by shrubbery, was stumbled upon by herders who promptly alerted the authorities.
According to witness Peter Were, there are suspicions that the woman was killed elsewhere and transported to the scene, as she was not known to residents in the vicinity.
Naivasha Deputy OCPD Samuel Ooro has confirmed the incident, stating that investigations have commenced and the body has been transferred to the local mortuary. Initial findings suggest foul play, indicating that the perpetrators deliberately left the body at the scene.
In a separate incident along the Naivasha-Mai Mahiu Road, passengers narrowly escaped a fatal accident when a matatu driver collided with a trailer while attempting to evade arrest by county enforcement officers.
The driver had been apprehended in Mai Mahiu Town for picking up passengers outside the designated terminus. Witnesses report that the driver fled with three officers aboard before crashing into the trailer headed for Naivasha.
One officer sustained leg injuries during the collision, while the driver was subsequently detained as he attempted to flee the scene.
