Rev. William Mako, a resident of Kisaju in Kajiado County, has been missing since he left home on Saturday, prompting his family to launch a search for him.
According to his uncle, Mzee Joseph Taani, Mako departed from his Kisaju residence at 9 am on Saturday, informing his wife that he would be attending a seminar at Olilalei Jesus Exaltation Church, situated in the direction of Kajiado town.
Witnesses observed Mako walking to the Athi River-Namanga Road before catching a matatu towards Kitengela town.
Taani noted that Mako did not use his official car on that day. Mako, who owns a butchery in the Chini ya Mnazi area of Kitengela CBD, was seen by his uncle near Yukos heading towards Kitengela, carrying a bag of clothes and mentioning his intention to attend a Church event in the Kangere area near Kajiado town.
Kisaju Assistant Chief Edward Maato disclosed that upon arrival at his butchery, Mako made a list of his owed and owing amounts to his business associates, sealing the details in envelopes to be handed to his wife later.
Mako also reportedly sent money to someone via mobile transfer, and withdrew cash from an Mpesa shop before handing over his phone for charging. He then instructed a bodaboda rider to drop him off at the Kitengela bus station, adjacent to the Kitengela police station.
Concerns escalated when Mako’s wife, Nancy, discovered he had not attended the seminar he mentioned. The family subsequently reported his disappearance to Kitengela police, providing his photo for circulation, and handed over Mako’s phone to aid in the investigation.
The last known contact with Mako was with a bodaboda rider at 5 pm on Saturday in Kitengela, after which the rider returned to his base at Chini ya Mnazi.
Kitengela police have confirmed receipt of the report concerning the missing pastor, initiating efforts to locate him.
