Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has held talks with Farmers Party leader Kimani Ngunjiri as opposition figures intensify engagements on the political situation in Kenya.
Kalonzo said the meeting focused on the state of the nation, with particular attention to what he described as growing political intolerance and hate speech.
In a statement shared on Facebook, the former Vice President said the two leaders discussed remarks attributed to Nominated Member of Parliament Joseph Wainaina, which he said should be condemned strongly by Kenyans.
“We addressed the growing political intolerance and hate speech that continues to go unchecked,” Kalonzo said, adding that the remarks by Wainaina “must be condemned in the strongest terms by all right-thinking Kenyans.”
The meeting brought together several WPF officials, including the party’s spokesperson and Treasurer Ndegwa Njiru and Hon. Gideon Mulyungi. East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kennedy Kalonzo also attended the discussions.
Ngunjiri was accompanied by officials from the Farmers Party.
The meeting comes amid heightened political activity as opposition parties and leaders continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Kalonzo said the engagement with Ngunjiri would not be a one-off meeting, signalling plans for further consultations between the two political formations.
“I look forward to further engagements with Hon. Ngunjiri who was accompanied by party officials,” Kalonzo said.
He concluded the message with a call for political cooperation, stating: “Together we shall Komboa Kenya.”
