Police in Kilifi County have arrested two individuals suspected of engaging in drug trafficking following an intelligence-led operation in the Sakina area that uncovered a substantial quantity of cannabis.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), the raid was conducted after officers received credible intelligence suggesting the suspects were running an illegal narcotics distribution network.

During the operation, police recovered two half-sacks of cannabis sativa, cannabis seeds, several packaged quantities believed to be ready for sale, a digital weighing scale, a hammer, cash suspected to be proceeds from the illicit trade, and other items linked to the investigation.
The suspects are currently in police custody as detectives continue with investigations. Authorities said they will face appropriate legal action once the inquiries are concluded.
The National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating the trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances, urging members of the public to cooperate by providing information that could help dismantle drug networks and improve community safety.
Residents have also been encouraged to report suspicious activities at the nearest police station, through police emergency numbers, the #FichuaKwaDCI toll-free hotline, or the service’s official WhatsApp reporting platform.
