A police officer died shortly after participating in Madaraka Day festivities in Wajir East Sub-County, Wajir County.
Police Constable Hassan Moyo reportedly collapsed at about 9:05am after taking part in the parade march-past at Wajir Stadium, according to police reports.

He was quickly taken to Wajir County Referral Hospital, where doctors attempted to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at around 10:00am.
Preliminary medical findings suggest he may have suffered a myocardial infarction (heart attack), officials said. Authorities added that further medical and administrative procedures, including a post-mortem examination, will be conducted in line with protocol.
Moyo was attached to a local tactical unit and was among security officers deployed for the national celebrations, which were attended by hundreds of residents and top officials, including President William Ruto.
