Students Sent Home as Unrest Rocks Lenana School

Lenana School has temporarily closed and sent all students home following disturbances reported during night preps, prompting the administration to suspend learning activities to restore order.

In a notice to parents and guardians, the Board of Management said the decision was necessary to stabilise the situation and carry out a full assessment of the incident.

“Following the restlessness and disturbance experienced during preps in the school last night, the Board of Management and the school administration have resolved to temporarily release all students to allow for restoration of normalcy and a comprehensive assessment of the situation,” the notice read.

Parents were instructed to collect their sons starting 8:00am, with the school emphasising that no student would be allowed to leave alone.

“All students must leave the school compound accompanied by a parent, guardian, or authorised representative,” the administration directed.

The institution did not disclose the cause of the disturbances but said investigations and assessments were underway before normal learning resumes.

Further communication on reporting dates and next steps will be issued after reviews are completed, the school added, apologising for the disruption and thanking parents for their cooperation.
