In a statement, the agency said it deployed emergency teams to support ongoing rescue and response operations at the school.
It added that first responders, including ambulance crews and psychosocial support teams, were on the ground assisting affected students alongside other emergency agencies and authorities.
Authorities said response efforts were still underway as teams continued to assess the scene and determine the full extent of the tragedy. The cause of the fire has not yet been established.
Rift Valley Regional Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi said at least ten students were still unaccounted for as investigations continued.
He noted that officers were working to establish the exact number of casualties, adding that families would be informed first before further details are released.

Parents gathered in large numbers at the school gates as news of the incident spread across Gilgil and nearby areas, with security restricting access and allowing only parents into the compound during ongoing rescue and investigation efforts.
The injured students were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Gilgil for treatment and further evaluation.
