At least 10 students are feared dead after a fire broke out in a dormitory at Utumishi Girls Academy in Gilgil, Nakuru County.
The blaze is reported to have started around 1am, with the Kenya Red Cross confirming it was alerted to the incident at approximately 3:30am on Thursday.

The number of injured students had not been confirmed by the time of reporting, as the school administration continued with a headcount to establish those affected.
Anxiety gripped parents who rushed to the school after news of the incident, with concerns growing that the death toll could increase.
The school has stated that only parents will be allowed inside the compound as authorities work to account for all learners and manage the situation.
