Chinese vehicle manufacturer Jetour has officially entered the Kenyan market, unveiling four mid-size SUV models aimed at the country’s growing premium car segment.
The lineup includes the Jetour Dashing, Jetour X70, Jetour T-Series, and Jetour T2, which will be distributed locally through Global Motor Center, Jetour’s official partner in Kenya.

Speaking during the launch, Andy Yuan, Jetour International’s Vice President, said the company’s entry represents a long-term investment in Kenya’s automotive industry.
“Our goal is to offer travellers exceptional comfort, craftsmanship, and service. We want Kenyan consumers to experience top-tier quality directly from us,” Yuan said, adding that Jetour plans to roll out more models as it strengthens its presence across Africa.
Jetour Kenya Managing Director Farouk Sheikh emphasized that the company’s approach goes beyond car sales.
“Our vision is not just about selling vehicles; we’re investing in local skills development and partnering with Kenyan businesses to enhance mobility nationwide,” Sheikh said. “We’re proud to support Kenya’s automotive growth, create jobs, and promote sustainability through vehicles designed with Kenyan drivers in mind.”
He added that Jetour will soon expand operations to Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Nanyuki, and Nakuru, and is exploring the establishment of a local assembly plant to create employment and reduce vehicle prices.
The automaker also intends to introduce electric and hydrogen-powered models in the near future, aligning with Kenya’s shift toward green mobility solutions.
Erastus Gabete, Industrialisation Secretary at the Ministry of Trade and Investment, praised Jetour’s entry, saying it supports Kenya’s local assembly agenda and contributes to job creation.
Founded in 2018, Jetour is a subsidiary of Chery Holding Group and has quickly expanded to over 50 global markets. Its “Travel+” strategy focuses on producing smart, stylish, and value-driven SUVs tailored to modern lifestyles.
