Popular graphic design platform Canva is currently experiencing a widespread outage that has disrupted access and functionality for millions of users worldwide.
According to a statement shared by the company, the platform began facing “significantly increased error rates” affecting core features such as design editing, saving, and collaboration tools.

“We are currently experiencing significantly increased error rates which are impacting functionality on Canva. Our team is actively investigating the issue and working to restore full access as quickly as possible,” the company said in a status update posted on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 7:16 p.m. (AEDT).
The outage has left many users unable to log in, load projects, or export designs, with reports of disruptions spreading across regions including Australia, Europe, Africa, and North America.
Social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) have seen a surge in complaints and memes from frustrated designers, marketers, and students who rely on Canva for daily work.
Canva’s official status page confirms the outage is under investigation, and engineers are working to stabilise systems. However, the company has not provided an estimated timeline for full restoration of services.
Founded in 2013, Canva is one of the world’s leading online design tools, boasting over 170 million monthly active users across 190 countries.
