On July 28, 2025, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen paid a courtesy visit to Governor George Natembeya before meeting with members of the public, local leaders, NGOs, and security officials at the County Commissioner’s residence in Trans Nzoia.
The visit was part of the 22nd Jukwaa La Usalama grassroots engagement in the county.
CS Murkomen also held discussions with the county security team and reviewed registration services at the ACC Central Division in Saboti Sub-County.
He was accompanied by DIG-APS Gilbert Masengeli, Regional Police Commander Jasper Ombati, Regional Administration Police Commander John Amadadi, and other senior government officials.

This visit occurred just days after Governor Natembeya returned to his Kitale office on July 21, 2025, following the expiration of a two-month court-imposed ban from Nairobi.
On May 20, Natembeya was released on a Sh1 million bond or an alternative Sh500,000 bail, after facing corruption charges.
During the ban, he operated from sub-county offices, conducting meetings and receiving official delegations.
He also toured the county extensively during this period, emphasizing that he had nothing to conceal.
“I’m glad to be back, and as always, let’s work hard to serve the people of Trans Nzoia,” Natembeya said to the welcoming staff.
