The auction will take place on Thursday, June 24, 2025, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Main Campus in Kesses, Nairobi, within the university’s Transport Department and Farm yard.

In a notice dated June 16, 2025, the university announced that items to be auctioned include motor vehicles, livestock, dogs, pigs, used tyres, and other miscellaneous equipment. All items will be sold to the highest bidders.

Among the listed items is a German Shepherd dog valued at KSh40,000 and a Toyota Hilux pickup with a starting price of KSh350,000.

The livestock selection features bulls and bull calves priced between KSh7,000 and KSh70,000, while donkeys are listed between KSh9,000 and KSh15,000. Pigs are priced from KSh3,500 to KSh5,000, and a lot of used tyres is set at KSh12,000.

Prospective buyers must register between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on the auction day. Viewing of items will be allowed on June 20 and 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at designated locations.

To participate, a refundable deposit is required—KSh20,000 for vehicles and KSh2,000 for all other items—to obtain a bidding number.

The auction will follow an “as-is-where-is” policy, with all sales finalized on a cash basis at the fall of the hammer. Winning bidders must make payment immediately, or risk losing their deposit.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kiplagat Kotut emphasized that canvassing is prohibited and the sale will only go through if reserve prices are met.
