The man, identified as Dominic Ateka, had reportedly traveled from Mombasa to the Mihango Kware area, where his estranged wife lived with their children.
On Wednesday, May 28, he picked up his sons—aged four and two—and returned with them to his home.
This was the last time the three were seen alive.
The following day, Ateka’s mother went to check on them but found the house locked from the inside. After receiving no response, she alerted neighbors, who forced entry into the house and discovered the three bodies hanging from the roof rafters, each tied with ropes.
Police responded to the scene and moved the bodies to the mortuary for autopsy and further investigation.
The motive behind the incident remains unclear, although the couple was reportedly experiencing marital problems that had led to their separation.
