Speaking on Sunday at the Gospel Confirmation Centre (GCC) in Machakos, Gachagua emphasized that the disunity within the country was due to a lack of unity within the four Gema communities.
He described the unity of the Gikuyu, Embu, Meru, and Akamba people as a divine act, especially after his removal from office.
“God has worked in a miraculous way to unite us. We were once with President William Ruto, but we were pushed away. You, on the other hand, were with Raila Odinga, and he left you. It was God’s plan for us to come together,” Gachagua remarked.
Addressing the people of Ukambani, he assured them that this united Gema group, including the Gikuyu, Embu, Meru, and Akamba, would be key to the country’s future. “Together with you, we will form the government this time, and there’s no turning back,” he added.
Following his ouster from office due to his fallout with President Ruto, Gachagua has been seeking to form alliances with opposition leaders. He has committed to collaborating with Martha Karua of the People’s Liberation Party (PLP), Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper, and the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K).
Gachagua emphasized his efforts to bring together leaders for a united front in the next general election.
Additionally, he revealed plans to establish his own party soon, with a strong emphasis on involving young people. His deputy party leader will be from Gen Z, showcasing his commitment to youth leadership.
“I want to involve Gen Z in a significant way. As the party leader, my deputy will be from Gen Z so we can engage them actively. They are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are the leaders of today. With my experience and their creativity, this will be a powerful combination,” Gachagua concluded.
