‘Tumbo Cuts,’ Crocs and Mini Skirts Banned at Moi University

Moi University has implemented new grooming guidelines that prohibit the wearing of crocs, mini skirts, and plastic shoes on campus. According to a memo from the Dean of Students dated February 6, students must adhere to the rules and regulations governing conduct and discipline at the university.

The decision to introduce these new rules was prompted by instances of indecent dressing among students, as stated in the memo. Failure to comply with the new regulations may result in disciplinary action, and individuals who violate the rules will be denied access to university facilities.

The banned clothing items include micro mini skirts, skin-tight trousers, ripped jeans, cropped blouses/shirts, low-cut tops, micro shorts, transparent dresses, and attire that exposes bra straps. Additionally, clothing with offensive writing, sagging trousers, and revealing chest fashion are prohibited.

Furthermore, flip flops, crocs, and all plastic footwear are not permitted on university grounds, as stated in the memo. These types of shoes are deemed informal and are not considered suitable attire for the university environment.
