A family is grieving the loss of their daughter who tragically lost her life in an accident on Monday while escorting her sister to school.
According to the police, the 8-year-old victim was accompanying her sister, who was set to join Form One at Lugulu Girls High School. The fatal accident occurred at the Bilibili area along the bustling Webuye highway.
Reports indicate that the accident involved a collision between a private vehicle and a lorry, both traveling in opposite directions. The ill-fated car, with the young girl on board, suffered severe consequences.
Witnesses at the scene revealed that the private vehicle had four passengers, and as a result of the collision, five individuals sustained injuries. The injured parties are currently receiving treatment at Kimilili Hospital.
Tragically, the lifeless body of the 8-year-old victim has been transported to Kiminini Cottage Hospital Mortuary, adding to the somber atmosphere surrounding this devastating incident.
