A family in Adungosi, Teso, Busia County is grieving the loss of their one-and-a-half-year-old son who drowned after falling into a well within their compound.

According to police, the tragic incident occurred on May 12, 2025, while the child was playing with his siblings near the home. He reportedly slipped and fell into the uncovered 25-foot-deep well.
The siblings quickly alerted their parents, who were working on a nearby farm. Despite rushing to the scene, they were unable to rescue him in time.
The child’s body was recovered shortly after the incident and taken to a local mortuary for postmortem and further procedures.
Authorities have since urged families to ensure that wells are properly secured to prevent similar accidents.
