This is How Kenya Has Benefited from Ruto’s US Visit

President Dr. William Ruto’s visit to the United States of America is expected to bring significant benefits to Kenya in terms of investments and finances, according to Government Spokesman, Dr. Isaac Mwaura.

The trip will enable Kenya to negotiate with development partners and secure employment opportunities for young Kenyans struggling with unemployment.

Mwaura stated that the cost of the trip is nothing compared to the gains made against what has been spent by the head of state.

He also mentioned that Kenya will benefit from a Sh22.8 billion investment plan with Coca-Cola for the expansion of its operations in Kenya over the next five years, which will create over 3,000 jobs for Kenyans and contribute to the local economy.

Microsoft Corporation and G42 have announced Sh132.7 billion ($1 billion) in digital investments in Kenya, including local-language Artificial Intelligence (AI) model development and research, an East Africa Innovation Lab coupled with broad AI digital skills training, international and local connectivity investments, and collaboration with the government of Kenya to support safe and secure cloud services across East Africa.

The collaboration between Microsoft and G42 will provide support to local universities through the Microsoft Africa Research Institute, the Microsoft AI for Good Lab, the Mohammed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in Abu Dhabi, and select universities from Kenya and East Africa.

Microsoft’s AI for Good Lab in Nairobi will utilise its AI technology to partner with varied nonprofit organisations to address economic and societal issues across the East Africa region.

On Finance Bill 2024, Dr. Mwaura urged Kenyans to engage in public participation and share feedback with the government to ensure their voice is heard and their concerns regarding the proposals are taken into consideration before the Bill becomes law. Government of Kenya Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura
