Teen Kills Brother Over Sh100 Dispute

A 17-year-old boy in Geta, Trans Nzoia County, has been arrested for fatally stabbing his 32-year-old brother during a dispute over Sh100.

The incident occurred on Saturday, May 3, in Laini Moja Village, where Charles Koech lost his life.

According to police reports, their mother had left Sh100 for the brothers to buy ingredients for lunch. When the money went missing, a quarrel broke out between the siblings.

During the heated exchange, the younger brother allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed his elder sibling, killing him on the spot.

Police confirmed the suspect was taken into custody and will be charged in court. Koech’s body was moved to Kitale County Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem.

Authorities noted a growing trend in murder cases, with up to eight incidents being reported daily across the country.
