Police are investigating the killing of an 84-year-old woman, Fanice Okwisa, whose body was discovered in her home in a village in Luanda, Vihiga County. The motive remains unknown.
According to Western police commander Issa Mohamud, Okwisa was found lying in a pool of blood in her sitting room, with deep cuts to her neck, jaw, and forehead. The body was taken to the mortuary for autopsy and further investigations.

In Kilifi County, the body of 53-year-old Gibson Baya was found on a footpath in Magarini with head injuries. Baya had gone to fetch water and did not return home. A broken wooden club was recovered at the scene, and police moved the body to the mortuary.
Similarly, in Lungalunga, Kwale County, 72-year-old Ndoro Mwaba Said was found dead in his house, lying in bed with deep head and neck wounds. Authorities suspect the killings may be linked to ongoing disputes over land.
Police report that such attacks have been rising in Kilifi and Kwale, with gangs allegedly targeting the elderly to seize land. Investigations are ongoing, but solving these cases has proven challenging.

In Shamberere, Kakamega County, 59-year-old Peter Umba was found dead with severe cuts on his head and hands. His wife and son have been detained as persons of interest. Authorities are probing possible motives, with land disputes also suspected.

Separately, in Nairobi’s Sunton area, a suspected robber was killed by a mob after attempting to snatch a pedestrian while riding as a pillion passenger on a motorcycle. The accomplice escaped. Police report that mob justice is becoming increasingly common, with up to four suspects reportedly lynched daily in both rural and urban areas.
Investigations into all the incidents are ongoing.
