She also commended caregivers, foster parents, families, faith-based institutions, and community groups for their dedication to nurturing children and strengthening the nation’s social fabric.

“Across Kenya, countless individuals, families, organizations, and community groups continue to open their hearts to vulnerable children,” Joyce said.

“I sincerely honor caregivers, founders of children’s homes, volunteers, donors, and partners whose selfless contributions shape our communities and the future of our nation.”

At Manasseh Children’s Home, which shelters 44 children, Joyce donated science books and food through her SaVE Communities Initiative (Science Adding Value to the Environment and the Community), which she founded to promote education and community empowerment.

She described the visit as reflecting Kenya’s values of care, unity, and shared responsibility, emphasizing that protecting children is a national duty beyond institutions and regions.

“I am proud to be part of this engagement, which highlights the spirit of care, unity, and responsibility that defines us as a nation,” she said.

“This effort represents our collective commitment to uplift and mentor our children, who are the foundation of our future.”

As a Senior Lecturer in Chemistry at the University of Nairobi, Joyce underscored the importance of guiding and nurturing children to build a peaceful, progressive, and responsible society.

“When we invest in young lives, we lay the groundwork for peace, progress, and leadership. Every child deserves dignity, opportunity, and hope, regardless of their background,” she said.

Speaking to the children, she encouraged them to pursue their dreams with confidence, reminding them that their current circumstances do not define their future.

“You each have unique potential, resilience, and purpose. With education, discipline, and belief in yourselves, you can overcome challenges and make a positive impact on our country,” she told them.

She concluded by applauding caregivers and institutions serving children, calling their work true nation-building.

“Your dedication shapes character, instills values, and restores hope. Kenya is stronger because of your service,” the Second Lady added.
