Ruto: If I fail, I’ll go home to farm.

President William Ruto has urged leaders in Kiambu to come together and collaborate for the betterment of all Kenyans.

During his visit to Githunguri on Saturday, Ruto appealed to leaders to stop inciting divisions and conflicts among Kenyans.

He emphasized that each leader has been given a specific mandate to fulfill, and in 2027, Kenyans will decide who to re-elect based on their performance.

Ruto stated that those who fail to meet the promises made during the campaign should accept being voted out and leave peacefully.

“I urge the leaders in Kiambu to stop the infighting and incitement. Kenyans are not naive; they know who is working and who isn’t. We were all given jobs to do—the MCA has their role, the MP has theirs, the governor and I have ours. Everyone should focus on their work,” Ruto said.

“Everyone should do their job. In 2027, when the time comes, Kenyans will decide who passes the test. Those who succeed will continue, and those who fail will go home and farm. Why stir up conflict? Is it necessary to cause turmoil? Isn’t it you who will judge our performance?” he added.

Ruto stated that Kenyans entrusted him with ensuring children have access to education, roads are built, and electricity reaches every household, and he is diligently working on these commitments.

He also acknowledged that he, like any other leader, will face the 2027 evaluation. Should he fail, he will return home to farm.

“You asked me to ensure our children are educated, and I’ve hired 76,000 teachers. You asked for reduced fertilizer and seed costs, and to connect electricity and build roads. You will question me in 2027, and I will answer. If I pass the test, I will continue; if I fail, I will go back to farming. What’s the problem? There’s no problem,” Ruto said.

He reiterated that Kenyans want a united leadership focused on common goals, and as president, he will not stop working towards uniting all Kenyans, regardless of their region.
