President Ruto Departs for Washington DC

President William Ruto has left the country for Washington DC following an official invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump, marking a significant moment in regional diplomacy and Kenya–U.S. relations.

During the high-level engagement, President Ruto will join Rwandan President Paul Kagame and DR Congo President Félix Tshisekedi for the signing of a historic DRC–Rwanda Peace Agreement.

The pact aims to end long-standing conflict in Eastern DR Congo through disarmament, stabilization, and renewed cooperation between the two neighbours.

President Ruto’s visit underscores Kenya’s growing role in regional peacebuilding and its commitment to strengthening long-standing ties with Washington.
