A 34-year-old woman was found dead in her home in Kithyoko, Masinga, Machakos County, in what police suspect is a murder linked to a love triangle.

The victim, Pauline Mukeli Nzioka, was discovered after neighbours grew suspicious when her house remained locked. Police and locals broke in and found her body submerged in a water tank inside the house. Blood stains were spotted on the floor, and her slippers lay apart.
Investigators recovered a hammer and an iron sheet cutter, both stained with blood, from the bedroom. Police said she had suffered multiple head injuries.
The main suspect, believed to be her husband, is being sought for questioning. Locals reported that he had separated from his first wife. Officers at the scene described the killing as brutal and likely driven by anger and revenge.
Authorities have raised alarm over the growing number of murder cases in the country, many tied to love triangles, land disputes, and robberies, with police struggling to resolve dozens of pending cases.
