A man was fatally hit on Saturday while attempting to cross Thika Road near Garden City Mall.
Witnesses said he dashed from Homeland restaurant toward the mall, opting to run across the eight-lane highway instead of using the nearby footbridge.
He was struck by a speeding vehicle, then run over by another.
Passersby pulled him from beneath one of the cars, but he died instantly. The incident caused heavy traffic congestion as police were yet to arrive to remove the body.
