The male patient was found lifeless in his bed with a slashed throat, according to both hospital and police sources. Other patients reported that an intruder entered the ward and fatally attacked the patient on Friday morning.
Upon visiting the scene, police confirmed the presence of an intruder but found that the CCTV cameras were not operational at the time of the incident. KNH expressed deep sorrow over the patient’s death and stated that they are fully cooperating with law enforcement while conducting their own internal inquiry.
Acting CEO Dr. William Sigilai extended condolences to the victim’s family, emphasizing the hospital’s commitment to patient safety.

This incident echoes a similar case from November 2015, when another patient was brutally murdered at the same facility, suffering stab wounds and severe trauma. Despite several nurses being on duty that night, the attack remains a haunting reminder of security vulnerabilities in the hospital. Investigations into both cases continue.
