As part of the agreement, the council will withdraw redundancy letters previously issued to staff, allowing affected lecturers to resume duty.

The parties also reached consensus on the promotion of 56 lecturers interviewed in December 2024 and agreed to reinstate the earlier procedure for appointing deans. In addition, lecturers returning from further studies abroad will now be promoted immediately.

On matters of statutory deductions, pension, and arrears, both sides agreed that the issues will be settled once the university receives funding from the government.

The strike, which began on August 20, 2025, was linked to the lecturers’ demand for the implementation of a return-to-work agreement signed on November 30, 2024.

The union had also pushed for the payment of June and July 2025 salaries in line with the 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), as well as full compliance with provisions on promotions and retirement age under the same CBA.
