Mobius Motors to Cease Operations in Kenya

Mobius Motors is set to cease its operations in Kenya following shareholder approval for its liquidation.

On August 5, 2024, it was decided to liquidate the company in accordance with Section 393(1)(b) of the Insolvency Act. The shareholders also appointed KVSK Sastry as the liquidator to oversee the winding-up process.

Director Nicolas Guibert announced that a creditors’ meeting will take place on August 15, 2024, at 9 a.m. at the Mobius Factory (Sammer Africa, Mombasa/Enterprise Road Junction, Nairobi).

The meeting will address and, if appropriate, approve the shareholders’ choice of liquidator under Section 408 of the Insolvency Act.

Guibert also mentioned that the list of creditors and proxy forms will be available for free inspection starting August 9, 2024, at Mobius Motors’ office, Block C3, Sameer Business Park, Mombasa Road, Nairobi.

This closure will conclude Mobius Motors’ 13-year history. Founded in 2011 by British entrepreneur Joel Jackson, the company aimed to manufacture vehicles for the African market, with the Mobius II, its first-generation model, launched in Kenya in 2015.
