Police have launched investigations after the body of a South Sudanese national who had been reported missing was discovered in Lake Nakuru.
The deceased, identified as 21-year-old Mach Mayen Anyieth, had been missing for several days before his body was found floating near the Nyuki area of the lake. The search involved police officers, Kenya Wildlife Service rangers, and family members.

According to police, the body was retrieved in a decomposed state and bore a visible injury on the back of the head. Authorities have opened a murder probe, though the exact cause of death remains unknown pending further investigation.
In a separate incident in Sikoreria village, Maridadi Sub-location, Trans Nzoia County, police are pursuing a man accused of killing his wife, 38-year-old Hellen Amukope.
Preliminary findings indicate the suspect attacked her with a hammer and stabbed her before fleeing the scene. The victim’s body was moved to the mortuary for postmortem examination as a manhunt for the fugitive continues.
Meanwhile, in Suba South’s Magunga area, police are investigating a case where a woman was fatally assaulted by her brother-in-law during a domestic altercation. The victim, 28-year-old Esther Achieng, was reportedly struck with a club following a dispute over alleged theft of money.
The suspect has since been arrested and is expected to face murder charges.

Elsewhere in Miruka, Nyamira County, a man identified as 30-year-old Duncan Odhiambo succumbed to injuries two weeks after being attacked by unknown assailants while heading home. He initially sought treatment at a private clinic but later died on September 30, 2025, after his condition worsened. Police say investigations into the attack are ongoing.
Authorities have raised concern over the rising cases of violent deaths, many of which involve disputes among relatives over land, finances, and domestic disagreements.
