In a compelling address marked by calls for unity and progress, Honorable Peninah Malonza, Minister responsible for ASAL (Arid and Semi-Arid Lands), rallied Ukambani leaders to work together to harness the opportunities presented by President William Ruto’s administration.

Despite facing opposition from a faction of MPs in Kitui County, Minister Malonza reaffirmed her commitment to providing essential relief food to the people of Kenya.

During her impassioned speech, Minister Malonza urged the dissenting MPs to set aside their differences and join forces to ensure that the government’s efforts translate into tangible benefits for all constituents. She emphasized the importance of unity in driving development initiatives and addressing the needs of the community effectively.

Accompanied by her counterpart, Minister Simon Kiprono Kyelugui from the Ministry of Cooperatives and Micro and Small Enterprises, Minister Malonza called upon all Kenyans to afford President William Ruto the necessary time to fulfill the promises made during the 2022 elections. They emphasized that the period of political campaigns has passed, and now is the time for President Ruto to deliver on his commitments to the nation.

The occasion of Minister Malonza’s address coincided with the launch of financial aid to support women’s groups in Kitui County. The aid, aimed at assisting these groups and facilitating the purchase of water tanks, was inaugurated at the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) in Kitui Central. This initiative underscores the government’s dedication to empowering grassroots communities and improving their livelihoods.

Minister Malonza’s message resonated deeply with attendees, highlighting the importance of cooperation and solidarity in advancing the collective interests of Ukambani residents.

As the government continues its efforts to spur development and economic growth, her call for unity serves as a reminder of the crucial role that collaboration plays in driving progress and prosperity for all Kenyans.
